Opening of International Conference “Tesla Innovation Days”

The Director of Serbian Radiation and Nuclear Safety and Security Directorate (SRBATOM), Sladjan Velinov at the invitation of Nikola Tesla Institute of Electrical Engineering attended the opening of 3rd International Conference “Tesla Innovation Days – TID 2025”.

This event, which will take place on 7. 07 and 08 April and gather the experts in different fields of energy and industry, as well as the representatives of the academic community, is seen as a unique opportunity to exchange experience, know-how and ideas among the participants.

This year’s Conference programme is directed at the present-day challenges and future prospects in energy sector, including the use of nuclear energy for sustainable development, integration of artificial intelligence in the energy system management, and advanced solutions for power transmission and distribution networks.

On the Day I of the Conference, Dr Djordje Lazarevic, Senior Research Associate at Nikola Tesla Institute of Electrical Engineering gave lecture on the present and future developments in the field of nuclear energy and advanced nuclear reactors. According to Dr Lazarevic, the advanced nuclear reactors are expected to improve safety and efficiency in energy production, and have a key role in the future energy mix by ensuring steady energy production, reduction of CO2 emissions and more efficient use of fuel.

This event is organized by Nikola Tesla Institute of Electrical Engineering which was established in 1936 with the blessing of the great scientist and inventor Nikola Tesla himself, with a tendency to stand as a living temple of science and an eternal monument of Tesla’s deeds.

In mid-2023, the Directorate signed the Agreement on Business and Technical Cooperation with the Nikola Tesla Institute of Electrical Engineering and, thus, established further cooperation and mutual participation of these two institutions in scientific and developmental projects, exchange of lessons learned and know-how in the field of low-carbon energy technologies and radiation and nuclear safety and security, as well as any other related activities of mutual interest.
